Israeli troops kill U.N. truck driver at Gaza crossing

Israeli soldiers opened fire Thursday on a truck attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the beleaguered Gaza Strip, killing one United Nations-contracted driver and seriously wounding another, U.N. officials said.

The shooting occurred at the Erez checkpoint, the main entrance used by relief agencies to funnel badly needed food and medical supplies into Gaza, where Israel is waging a devastating, 13-day-long military campaign against the militant Islamic group Hamas.

U.N. officials said that they had contracted the truck to deliver supplies into Gaza, and that the Israeli military had approved the delivery. But Israeli ground troops, which control the Erez checkpoint, fired on the truck. It wasn’t clear what caused the Israeli soldiers to open fire, and Israeli military officials weren’t immediately available for comment.

Flashback 2006 Tactical Nuclear Weapon Detonated In Iraq?

Tactical Nuclear Weapon Detonated In Iraq?

I’ve missed a lot news during Ramadan (trying to catch all the special-new TV series), so today, I managed to go through some, where I came across this interesting story, yet not covered by the mainstream media, and you’ll know why shortly.

First, the story at Digg says that Aljazeera claims that a tactical nuke exploded at Camp Falcon in Iraq. Followed the link they have there, but there was no video (some comments below the Digg story claims that it was removed by Google). Went searching until I found it here.

So far so good? Not really… Claiming that I’m an Arab and can understand Arabic, the quoted live report at Aljazeera never mentioned a word about any nuke explosions, although the anchor express clearly that he is amazed by the type and size of the explosions he is watching.

Researching more in the mainstream media about the event, didn’t find anything about the causalities or the explosions. That made me wonder, why? So I went searching the alternative media, and here come the surprises.

Now, before going any further, lets watch the video, (At precisely three minutes, fifty-six seconds (3:56) into the video clip, the “tactical nuclear explosion” appears to happen. It can’t be missed)

Is there a mistaking what it was? Maybe!

Gaza: Red Cross: Israel leaves wounded to die

Thu, 08 Jan 2009 11:16:38 GMT

Red Cross demands immediate access into Gaza from Israel, after its aid workers run into ‘shocking scenes’ of weak children and dead mothers.

Aid workers and four Palestine Red Crescent ambulances crossed over to the Zaytun district of Gaza City on Wednesday, where they found four emaciated children laying beside their dead mothers in a house containing 12 bodies, said a statement released by the international Committee of the Red Cross.

Although the relief worker encountered other wounded Palestinians and three more corpses in nearby houses, Israeli soldiers ordered the rescue team to leave the area, the statement added.

“This is a shocking incident… the Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded. Neither did they make it possible for us or the Palestine Red Crescent to assist the wounded,” said the head of the aid agency’s delegation for Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Pierre Wettach.

In the statement, the ICRC demanded immediate access to Gaza City neighborhoods that have come under Israeli fire, to search for survivors.

The past thirteen days of Israeli military onslaught in Gaza have claimed the lives of over 710 Palestinians, including 100 women and 220 Children. Mosques, UN-run schools, and hospitals have been among places targeted by the Israeli military.

This is while Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said last week on Monday that “We do not want to hit children and women and we will not prevent humanitarian aid.”

Ambulances have come under fire and many aid workers have been killed in the Israeli attacks, such as Palestinian Red Crescent medic Arafa Abdul, and CARE International’s Mohammed Ibrahim Samouni.

All the recent wars seem to be fought for Israel – whatreallyhappened

Obama: Watch for trillion dollar deficits

President-elect Obama is telling the public that the US may run a trillion dollar deficit to bailout the economy.

Webmaster’s Commentary:

I have a better idea.

STOP THE WARS! They have cost about a trillion (not counting the $2.3 trillion the Pentagon totally misplaced).

If we were to give up killing brown people, we could save a bundle of money, cut taxes 50%, which would reignite our economy overnight. I for one am willing to forgo the privilege of killing brown people. Frankly, it is not as much fun as the Victoria’s Secret fashion show anyway, but I digress.

The point is, a modern economic nation should be thinking in terms of making their people prosperous. This in turn makes the government prosper. Henry Ford understood this; why don’t you?

The fact is that unless you are a weapons maker (and few of us are) war is actually a huge money LOSER. And all these recent wars seem to be fought for Israel, whose claim to take possession of the land they are grabbing is based on a religious mythology. There is no science to back these claims up. The artifacts from Solomon’s Temple were fakes, and genetically the present-day Israelis are mostly descended from central Asian Khazars. not the biblical Hebrews. So….

US should give a state to Israel: Erbakan

leave a comment »

Former Turkish Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan
Former Turkish Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan has strongly condemned the US for its support of the Israeli war against the Palestinians.

Erbakan said that if the US wants to support Israel, it should give one of its states to the Israeli regime, the Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday.

He made the remarks in a speech delivered via video link to people who had staged a demonstration in Ankara to protest the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

Erbakan stated that the imperialists want to obliterate Turkey through implementation of the Greater Middle East Initiative, which has already brought them to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Erbakan was Turkey’s prime minister from 1996 to 1997.
